Accounts Receivable Specialist

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collection of accounts receivable, meeting company set guidelines for >60 days and >90 days, flagging accounts to Supervisor before they become an issue
  • Ensure receipt of payment from accounts as per contract terms and conditions
  • Follow up with overdue accounts on a proactive and timely basis via telephone and email, preparing a weekly summary of account status to Supervisor
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts
  • Respond to customer inquiries within 24 hours of inquiry
  • Provide support for various audit requests
  • Interact with customers, billing, pricing and operations for resolution of unapplied payments and other discrepancies
  • Maintenance of file storage for audit purposes
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, leveraging large amounts of data where required.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Excellent organization and time- management skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented and a proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills required
