Core Job Functions:

  • Operator rail car moving equipment or participate in the safe marshalling of the rail yard
  • Understand all safety aspects of loading and off-loading areas. 
  • Completes daily inspections of terminal off-loading area. Documenting any safety or maintenance items that need attention and documenting followups and completed repairs.
  • Inspect incoming rail cars and document inspections.
  • Ensure rail cars spotted correctly as per daily tank car arrival reports.
  • Responsible for hook-ups and offloading of rail cars into the applicable product transfer equipment.
  • Maintain daily reports
  • Prepare empty rail cars for return to railway and customers by adhering to TDG and railway guidelines.
  • Communicate rail car issues and railway concerns to Terminal Manager.
  • Have expert-level knowledge and adheres to the "working along" policies and procedures.
  • Have expert-level knowledge of the Terminal Emergency Response Manual in the event of an emergency
  • Responsible for general housekeeping and light maintenance of the Terminal.
  • Reporting any defects or hazards to direct supervisor

 

Job Requirements:

  • Previous Rail experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Safety first attitude
  • Ability to certify in Fall Arrest, First Aid/CPR, TGD, Emergency Response, etc.
  • Ability to work at heights per company procedure
  • Ability to lift 40-60 lbs
  • Working outdoors
