Job Title: Driver Performance Coach  

Location:  Dartmouth, NS ( On-Site)

Shift/ Schedule: Work hours to be confirmed during hiring process, may include shift rotation and compressed work week

We are currently hiring a Driver Performance Coach based in Dartmouth, NS.  

The Driver Performance Coach will play an integral role in the Driver Care Centre. Working alongside subject matter experts the Driver Care Centre’s goal is to increase overall driver satisfaction. Ensuring safety and compliance, the Driver Care Centre promotes, coaches, and educates drivers on key processes. 

The Driver Performance Coach will be responsible for regular coaching to drivers across the organization While acting as a champion for driver experience, the Driver Performance Coach will celebrate driver success while promoting key safety initiatives. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support the administration of the Driver Performance Scorecard Program. 

  • Communicate with operations teams and drivers regarding adherence to operational processes, providing coaching, education and support as required. 

  • Review positive safety performance with drivers and celebrating success. 

  • Review poor safety performance (video and/or telematic information) with drivers and coach on behavioral changes. 

  • Coach drivers in adherence to Hours-of-Service requirements.  

  • Escalate serious safety concerns to safety and operational management. 

  • Process, analyze, and report on data from the on-board truck computer system. 

  • Work with the operations team to ensure operational integrity and compliance to corporate safety standards. 

  • Other duties as required. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is an asset 

  • Experience and/or eagerness to work in a role with high-volume communication requirements   

  • Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities; ability to process a high volume of data and information from several different sources 

  • Advanced capabilities with MS Office, including: MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint 

  • Proficiency in a windows-based computer environment, including familiarity with web-based software platforms.  

  • Prior experience working with PeopleNet Fleet Manager is a definite asset. 

  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written 

  • Excellent organization and time-management skills 

  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision  

  • Experience in the transportation industry an asset 

  • Bilingual in English / French an asset
